Lawsuit: Principal was speeding, ran red light

A lawsuit claims that a principal from the Pennridge School District was speeding and ran a red light before her SUV slammed into a student who was walking in a crosswalk to get to school.
Filed Tuesday in federal court, the lawsuit seeks a six-figure judgment against Pennridge North Middle School principal Margaret Kantes. The suit says Kantes’ alleged negligence behind the wheel resulted in traumatic brain injury to Pennridge High School student Ricardo E. Smith, 16, and financial loss to his family because of medical bills.
